Job Description

Participates in the development and automation of ASIC design methodologies for designs in nanometer technologies.
Develops in-house CAD utilities for reducing the time-to-market factor.
Participates in state-of-the-art commerical IC design tool evaluation and flow deployment in both the ASIC and full custom design worlds.
Contribute to the development of leading-edge design flows within the Hardware Engineering department.
Participate in evaluation and deployment of state-of-the-art ASIC design tools.
Develop and support new in-house utilities to facilitate production flows and methodologies for faster time-to-market.
Own existing design utilities/flows and develop necessary enhancements.
Provide methodology and application consultation to IC designers.


Desired Profile

BS/MS in Electronics/ Computer Science/ Electrical
Good understanding of circuit design.
Good understanding of circuit simulation.
Hands-on IC experience on tools, flows and methodologies required to tape out at 0.18um or below
Perl and/or UNIX shell programming
Solid verbal and written communication skills
Tape out experience with the following Place & Route Tools (Cadence preferred) Cadence Custom IC tools Synopsys Design Compiler, Module Compiler, Formality, Physical Compiler Physcial Verification tools: Mentor Calibre DRC/LVS Circuit simulators: Hspice, Eldo, Spectre, HSIM, mixed-signal simulation Static timing analysis: Pearl, PrimeTime, Ambit Clock tree synthesis tools: CTgen, Clockwise, CT-PKS Signal integrity: Celtic, PrimeTime SI, SignalStorm IR drop analysis: VoltageStorm Parastic extraction: Simplex's Fire & Ice and QX, Synopsys' StarRCXT
Good understanding of virtual prototyping, RTL floorplanning flowGood understanding of design challenges in nanometer technologies such as leakage reduction, process variation, inductive noise, electromigration and stress migration issues in IPs, crosstalk effect related to inductance and IR drop effect.

Minimum experience - 2 years
Maximum experience - 10 years
